MAJOR VERSION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

IF YOU ARE NOT ON 6.1...

...this version has database changes requires everyone to log out from the system.  If you are on 5.0, it will take quite a while to upgrade, however, it will not take as long to update if you are on 6.0.

 

Please read all steps before downloading the update:

1)  Download update file (bottom of page).

2)  Make sure all users are logged out of PHClinic.

3)  Make a backup of your database. (run backdata.bat file on server)

4)  Run update file to extract new version of PHClinic, just like applying a normal patch file.

5)  Log on ONE machine into PHClinic.  (this is just a sample screen.  Yours will have a different version and release date, depending on when you apply the upgrade)

You will then see the login status screen:

6)  The update process happens in multiple parts:

    a)  Applying database changes (you will see information quickly flash on screen).

    b)  Re-indexing Data (Screen will go blank, do not turn off computer)

(Note: Task Manager will even say this screen is not responding, but that is because it is processing, and does not communicate with Task Manager.  It is NOT locked up.)

     c)  Load Completed message when done.

     d)  Log in to PHClinic again. 

7)  After that process is done, log back in, and when PHClinic is at the main menu, it is ready for use.
